Let me tell you how stupid my co workers are…

March 25th, 2004 @ 3:58 pm

Now over the weeks, months and years I have heard some pretty dumb things come out of my co workers mouths. Usually it’s just because they didn’t think or they tend to believe that the resident theyre dealing with has it all going on up stairs.

Tuesday night I left work telling one of them that she needed to make sure one of our residents was ready to go by 8am as she had blood work to be done. She didn’t need to do anything other than hold off on breakfast.

So Miss Martha gets call before 8am yesterday morning asking her the strangest question I have ever heard. The co-worked told her that the resident said she had to rub herself in brown sugar before going for x-rays and she wanted to check with Martha first before doing so! Now first off who the fuck rubs them self in brown sugar? Secondly who in their right mind believes that one needs to before x-rays? Thirdly after you have worked where I have worked as long as she has don’t you think you’d question such a god damn stupid thing? I mean you have kids; you go about your day and seem to do fine.

I often wonder how these people survive on their own, how they remember to not stop breathing and eat everyday.

quack, quack..

old people suck and not in a good way.

Some days I go to work with a smile on my face loving every minute of my job, then there are days like today. Actually I lie, days like the last week, I dread going into there. My job isn’t hard per say, it’s emotionally draining at best.

Today was one of the most emotionally draining ones I have yet to have the pleasure of being part of. There is nothing worse than arguing with an old senile woman who refuses to believe that you’re trying to help her or being up to your elbows in shit when the person refuses to let you help clean her up. I swear to God raising a child has to be easier to deal with than old people.

On an upbeat note I got to see photos of John from about ten years ago. He was this bubbly chubby man. Looking at his photos it’s hard to believe that it was the same person. It was the best part of my day, after his grandson had given Martha the pictures and he had went out the door she came running up the stairs yelling “Beverly, you’ve got to see this!” At first I thought something odd was going on downstairs. We both awed over him wishing we had known the man in the pictures. I often wonder what these people were like 50 years ago, were they as stubborn or easy going. Did they love life and enjoy walks in the park. Just the little things in life that makes you smile.

Turns out that around 40 people from John’s past have called his grandson wondering about the grave side ceremony, wishing there had been a funeral to go to. It serves the little bastard right for rushing into cremating him and not having a funeral service.

Am i bitter? you damn right i am.. (:
